Northeastern Border

The treaty established the northeastern border of America. The border between Maine and New Brunswick was clearly drawn to solve and border disputes among that area. It was the result of the Aroostook war. The Webster-Ashburton treaty gave 7,015 square miles to America and 5,012 square miles to Great Britain.

Detecting Slave Trade

The United States stationed ships along the African coast. They did this to spot slave trade activity. 

Daniel Webster, Secretary of State, and Lord Ashburton, British diplomat, created the Webster-Ashburton Treaty which mainly resolved border disputes

Great Lakes Border

The boundary between lake superior and lake of the Woods was re-established. America and Canada would share Great Lakes for commercial use.
